
My Meditation Journey
I found meditation when I was at one of my lowest points. I met a laughing yogi in the mountains of Toowoomba, Australia. He helped me realise how my spiritual imbalance was having a negative effect on other aspects of my life, such as my physical and mental health.
Over the following years since this serendipitous encounter I have been passionate about educating myself on a variety of health related subjects. Yet the one true panacea I have found on my search is meditation.
I am still to discover something as powerful and life-transforming as developing a healthy meditation practice. No matter what situation I find myself in, meditation allows me to come back to balance and alleviate the suffering.
It began as it does for many people who are new to meditation, using apps, recordings, videos, etc to alleviate some of the stress I was struggling to cope with. Over time I expanded to studying books, learning from masters of meditation, and most importantly lots of practice.
Then day by day I realised the reality around me was changing. The world did not seem as awful and overwhelming as it once had. But the world had not changed, I had. I began to trust myself and one by one my destructive habits fell away, each time leaving me feeling lighter and more at peace.
So, after years of freeing myself from the shackles of suffering, I decided it was time to show the rest of the world what I had learnt. Meditation with Michael was born.

My Philosophy
To relieve ourselves from suffering we must learn how to surrender to the flow of life and the need for constant control.
The journey to inner peace is not linear. It requires patience and self-compassion. Embrace the process of trial and error, adaptability, and the willingness to learn from both success and failure.
In the pursuit of growth and personal transformation, it is crucial to approach each situation with an open mind. Let go of preconceived notions and allow yourself to see the world with fresh eyes. This will allow new perspectives to emerge, enhancing your ability to navigate the complexities of life.
Instead of being consumed by external circumstances, its important that you cultivate inner strength by practising self-awareness and self-reflection. Understand that your thoughts, emotions, and sensations are transient; they do not define you. By observing them without attachment or resistance, you empower yourself to respond consciously, rather than react unconsciously.
Wisdom is not solely acquired through books or teachings; it is discovered through self-exploration and experience. No single method can solve all the unique challenges life presents. Adaptability and flexibility are key.
Vow to invest time and effort and you will witness negative behaviour patterns dissolve. With clarity and insight, you will cultivate a fulfilling and purpose-driven life.

What is Meditation?
Meditation is not something you do, it is your natural state of being. A pure, fully present existence. The practice of mindfulness increases your awareness of the true reality of things.
There are many techniques to assist you on this path to ultimate truth. The main goal of meditation in the end, is to guide you towards self-discovery, to know yourself.
Over the course of many years, I have delved into various methods of meditation. I dedicated myself to practising Vipassana, immersing myself in 10 days of silence, experiencing over 100 hours of mindful reflection. Along my journey, I have also embraced the profound teachings of Arhanta Yoga, as well as numerous other insightful philosophies.
The aim is always to train your attention of mind, to improve your ability to focus and direct your energy in a skilful way. Therefore, enabling you to investigate the nature of the universe in and all around you.
You learn how to skilfully guide where your focus is directed. Why is this so important? Because where your focus goes is where your energy flows, and where your energy flows is what you will manifest into your life.
