Theme: Sharpening Awareness with Compassion ✨
This session will guide you through three foundational practices designed to both strengthen the mind’s sharpness and open the heart’s tenderness:
Anapana (Concentration Practice)
We begin by simply observing the natural breath — no control, no interference. 🌬️ Gently witnessing the breath as it enters and exits through the nostrils, and feeling the subtle area above the upper lip. This sharpens the mind, building the essential foundation of samadhi — unwavering focus and clarity. 🎯
Equanimity (Compassionate Awareness)
Awareness without love can be cold. ❄️ We will explore the divine quality of equanimity — the soft, unconditional love of the heart. ❤️ With each sensation in the body, we will practise holding experience with the same calm certainty and nurturing presence a mother has for her child.
Vipassana (Insight Practice)
Finally, we will introduce the art of Vipassana. 🧘♂️ With patience and diligence, you will begin scanning the body part-by-part, feeling all sensations without clinging to pleasure or pushing away discomfort. After moving from head to toes, and back again, we will then practise sensing the body as a whole, flowing steadily through layers of sensation. 🌊
